THE RED STRING

165 sqm

Herzeliya, Israel

As an interior designer, I'm constantly inspired by the stories of my clients.

Recently, I had the privilege of working with a couple whose love story left a lasting impression on me.

Despite being from different cultural and religious backgrounds, and facing opposition from their families, they found each other and have built a life together.

This experience led me to explore the concept of the "red string myth," a belief found in various cultures, including Greek mythology and Asian beliefs, that a red string connects two people who are destined to meet. With this in mind, I aimed to create a space for this couple that truly reflected their unique connection.

In this apartment duplex, I used natural materials like stone, wood, iron and glass, with the red color acting as a connecting element throughout the different spaces. The result was an aesthetic that not only pleased the eye, but also evoked feelings of luxury, calmness, and flow. By blending Asian aesthetic elements with the couple's personal style, I was able to create a space that felt authentic to their background and experiences. Designing a space is not just about creating a beautiful visual, but it's also about connecting to the emotions and experiences of the people who will live in it.

That's why I'm passionate about incorporating personal stories and meaningful details into my work, so that every space I design is one of a kind, and truly reflective of its inhabitants.
